Enniscorthy and the Sow Regional Water Supply Scheme
This scheme will provide an adequate supply of potable water for human consumption to meet the demands of Enniscorthy town, and the Sow Regional Supply area up to the year 2030.
Tthis scheme will involve the development of new raw water sources, treatment facilities, storage and pumping infrastructure to meet both future demands and fire flow requirement. In addition the scheme will provide improved water distribution systems.
The estimated cost of the scheme is €19.4m.
Gorey Regional Water Supply Scheme
This project will provide additional potable water for Gorey, Courtown and its environs and will improve the distribution system to the coastal area from Courtown to Ballygarrett.
The scheme involves the drilling of eight additional wells in the South Wellfield and should greatly improve the water supply in one of the most rapidly growing parts of the county. The development of the South Wellfield will also involve the construction of a new water treatment plant and a water storage reservoir at Ballyminaun Hill located south of Gorey town.
New Ross Regional Water Supply Scheme
This scheme proposes to provide an increased water supply to cater for the ongoing development in New Ross town and the environs and ensure a sufficient water supply up to the year 2025. An additional water source will be provided and the pipeline network will be upgraded and extended. The scheme is estimated to cost €10.9m
