Ballymurn Sewerage Scheme

Ballymurn sewerage scheme comprising of a collection and treatment system was substantially completed in 2002. The treatment works has capacity of 300 PE with facility for rapid expansion to 600 PE and provides tertiary treatment using a reed bed effluent treatment system.

The project construction cost is € 0.45m.

Rosslare Sewerage Treatment Plant

The upgraded wastewater treatment plant was commissioned in 2002. The project significantly improves the existing primary treatment works by providing secondary level treatment for 7500 PE.

The estimated outturn scheme cost is € 1.2m

Small Schemes

The Council received a grant allocation of € 635,000 from the Department of Environment and Local Government and contributed an additional € 315,000 from its own resources to small scheme projects in 2002.

Water improvement projects were completed at Brownswood-Enniscorthy, Courtown/Riverchapel, Bunclody reservoir and water treatment plant, and at the Enniscorthy water treatment plant intake site.

Wastewater projects at Killinerin and Rosslare Harbour were substantially constructed in 2002 and will be completed in 2003.
