The Draft County Wexford Biodiversity Action Plan 2012-2017 has been prepared jointly by the Planning and Environment Sections of Wexford County Council and has been endorsed by the Members of Wexford County Council at their meeting on the 12th March 2012. The Plan provides a framework for the conservation, management and enhancement of the rich natural heritage and biodiversity in the county over the next five years.

This Draft Plan puts forward an ambitious programme of 33 actions to protect the sites, habitats, plants and animals that can be found in our County. The actions cover conservation of biodiversity in the wider countryside both within and outside protected areas; strengthening of knowledge base on biodiversity; and increasing public awareness and participation in the conservation of biodiversity. This plan will be led by Wexford County Council and its partners; however we all have a role to play in discovering and protecting the unique natural heritage of County Wexford.

The Plan was screened to determine whether Appropriate Assessment in accordance with Article 6(3) of the Habitats Directive was required.  It was determined that an Appropriate Assessment of the Draft Plan was not required. This Screening Report is available to view with the plan.
