New Ross Library was awarded the excellence level of National Disability Authority’s "Excellence through Accessibility Award" in 2008

As New Ross is a hill town, the approach route to the library may present as a difficulty for people with mobility disabilities.
It is recommended that people with mobility difficulties and wheelchair users drive or be driven to the library.
To assist we have installed:
- Resting points along the ramp access from the swimming pool car park to the library entrance
- 2 designated disabled parking bays in the library car park
- A designated drop off point has also been provided.

- Computer software Jaws reader available on public access pc
- Computer assist hardware available on accessible pc e.g.large key keyboard, rollerball
- Magnifer reader
- Portable loop system to aid hearing impaired users
