Summary: Kathleen Pierce was originally from Tipperary, she came to work in Tinahely P.O. where she met and married Michael Pierce in 1954. That same year they took over Inch P.O. where they lived, worked and raised a family. She talks of how life was in that rural community and the importance of Inch P.O. as a local shop, telephone exchange and post office. Kathleen talks enthusiastically about becoming involved in the Irish Countrywomen’s Association – she is one of the longest serving members of her local branch. Although the post office was robbed several times Kathleen never felt nervous about living on the premises.
