Part Two:
Wexford Historical Society’s Seminar on the 1911 Lockout in Wexford took place is St. Michael’s Centre, Greet Street, Wexford on the 12th February 2011. In Part Two Chairman Brian Matthews introduced Kieran Roche who talked about Richard Corish’s pivotal role in the Lockout and his relationship with union leaders who came to the town to help organise the workers. He referred to Corish’s repugnance at the use of ‘blackleg’ workers by the employers. Kieran described how Richard Corish’s long political career had its origins in those turbulent times.
In the final part of the Seminar the three speakers, Conor McCabe, Ian Hearn and Kieran Roche are invited back to the podium for a question and answer session with members of the audience.
