Wexford County Council Supporting Events
Wexford County Council encourages and supports all kinds of events. Events are an important part of the social and community life in County Wexford. Each year a number of parades, concerts, food fairs, festivals and historic re-enactments take place. These events provide entertainment to our citizens and encourage visitors to our beautiful county and coastline. These may include events organised/supported by employees of Wexford County Council or may be events with external organisers and committees.
An event is defined as a non-routine, planned, public or social occasion.
Events Management Guide
The council has produced an Event Management Guide (download it), in order to facilitate the safe management of events in our premises and public spaces.
Thinking of Organising an Event? Complete the preliminary online application.
Organisers must complete an online application form (available here) where their event is to be held on
- Wexford County Council premises.
- Outdoor spaces or marine locations.
- Event involving a road closure.
- Event causing anticipated significant traffic disruption.
There are minimum notice periods for running such events.
An Event Management Plan, including risk assessments must be produced prior to the event.

Private events on private premises are not required to adhere to Wexford County Council Event Planning Guidance, but are advised to refer to it as a guide to best practice.
