County Wexford Community Arts Network
What is the County Wexford Community Arts Network?The County Wexford Community Arts Network is a structure whereby artists and communities are brought together to make community arts happen in Co. Wexford.
Wexford County Council funded 15 projects through the County Wexford Community Network in 2010. See the CWCAN Projects 2009 and 2010 for examples.
Who is CWCAN for?CWCAN is targeted at all community groups that are interested in becoming involved in the arts. Whether you are working as a volunteer, or a member of parish committee; providing a service for children, young people or older people; or working in the field of heath care, disability, community development or social work; or working with new immigrant communities or travellers - CWCAN is open to you.
How much funding is available per project?
Wexford County Council will provide 50% funding, up to a maximum of €3,500 per project.
The remaining 50% is matched by community groups. This can be costed as direct funding, voluntary labour and/or in kind contributions.
It should be noted that the voluntary labour cost should not exceed 25% of the total budgeted cost. When a project is completed, voluntary labour costs is proven by the submission of completed and signed timesheets. Timesheets can be downloaded at

75% of the total amount of funding awarded to the community group will be paid at the start of CWCAN projects. The remaining 25% will be awarded upon successful completion of the project and submission of necessary documentation, including paid invoices/receipts and an evaluation report.
Is there an application form?
No, there is no formal application form.
To apply, community groups must submit a comprehensive written proposal.
Is there a closing date for project proposals?
There will be two deadlines for receipt of submissions in 2011:
1) 4pm on Thursday, 31st March 2011, and
2) 4pm on Thursday, 28th July 2011 (funding dependant)
