In April 2010 Wexford County Council signed up to a three year Interreg Project called Coracle. Coracle aims to enhance knowledge innovation and skills for growth, as well as skills for competitiveness and employment integration, in the creative arts and culture and arts/culture management sector in South East Ireland and South West Wales.

The programme will be developed over three years and will see exchanges between festival organisers, art galleries and art centres which will provide a much needed boost to the tourism and cultural enterprises on both sides of the Irish Sea.

The five partners involved are Carlow Institute of Technology, University of Wales - Trinity Saint David, Wexford Arts Centre, Wexford County Council and Carmarthenshire County Council.

The Coracle website will be activated in Spring 2011.

Coracle is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Ireland Wales Programme (INTERREG 4A).
