Arts and the Community
The arts are an integral part of people's lives. Artists in the community encourage and generate arts throughout the four corners of County Wexford. Through community arts, the process of producing art and the growth of the artistic capacity of the participants in integral. There are real rewards for those who collaborate with artists and take full advantage of the breadth of skills that artists bring to projects. It is during such processes that participants explore their creativity, interact and exchange ideas with others, while learning new skills.
To date, many projects funded through the ‘Arts and the Community’ programming strand has brought arts activity to people who may not have had many opportunities to participate up to then, thereby complimenting and enhancing the social inclusion remit of Wexford County Council.
The arts department delivers a range of arts activities primarily through three schemes.
