Excellence through Accessibility Awards
Excellence through Accessibility is a National Disability Authority(NDA)/Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Award Scheme.
The aim of the Award is to examine and encourage the accessibility of services provided by Government Departments and Agencies under their remit to people with disabilities. An inaccessible environment restricts peoples ability to participate as full citizens in Society.
Excellence through Accessibility seeks to promote and reward commitment to continuous improvements in accessibility of public services.
Wexford County Council in its commitment to making Wexford a more accessible environment for all initially engaged in the Excellence through Accessibility Award process in 2007.
In 2007 the site chosen for the Award application was the Enniscorthy District Office achieving the Award at Quality Level.
In 2008 the site chosen for the Award was New Ross Library achieving the Award at Excellence Level
