This ancillary Safety statement has been prepared by Wexford County Council in accordance with the requirements of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 1989.
It is one of several ancillary safety statements prepared by Wexford County Council for the various County Council work places and sections. A list of these ancillary safety statements is shown overleaf.
The Parent Safety Statement forms the framework on which this ancillary safety statement is based. A copy of the Parent Safety Statement is available for inspection to all employees.
The allocation of responsibilities for safety and the arrangements and resources being deployed are set out in this ancillary safety statement. Hazards in the work place have been identified and the risks assessed.
It is the duty of each employee to read and understand the safety arrangement applying to his/her specific section or work area.
Every employee has the right to make representations to and consult the employer on matters of safety, health and welfare at his/her place of work.
This ancillary Safety Statement will be monitored and reviewed in the light of circumstances. This review will take place as necessary and will, in any case, occur annually.
Declaration of Intent
It is the intention of Wexford County Council to ensure the safety, health and welfare at work of all employees through the design, provision and maintenance of a safe place of work, safe means of access and egrees from it, safe plant and machinery and systems of work that are safe and without risk to health.
Wexford County Council also has the aim to ensure the safety and health of persons who come in contact with the work activities of this organisation.
This ancillary Safety Statement was approved by the Safety Monitoring Committee.
